The presence of Györgi Ligeti - whose centenary is being celebrated this year - in some future programmes is surprising. A Jew, his family (except for his mother) perished in the Holocaust. Until he fled Hungary in 1956, he was persecuted by the Hungarian regime and had great difficulty getting himself played. He is therefore perfectly legitimate in a Muffled Voices programme.
