Orchestra Les Metamorphoses

The Orchester Les Métamorphoses works on the principle of a pool of about fifty musicians chosen for their individual technical and musical abilities and addresses in a historically informed manner on modern instruments works ranging from the Baroque to the Classics, as well as the composers of the 20th century. century. This young and brilliant orchestra can thus, in the spirit of the writings of Nikolaus Harnoncourt, cover a vast repertoire ranging from the Metamorphoses of Dittersdorf to those of Richard Strauss or Walter Braunfels.

From its debut in January 2018, the orchestra immediately stood out during performances of Mozart's Magic Flute. The press also highlighted his commitment to the Vienne Fin de Siècle program with vocal and symphonic works by Gustav Mahler, Franz Schreker and Alexander von Zemlinsky. This last program was performed at the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu with the Korean baritone Jiwon Song, First Prize at the 25th Clermont-Ferrand International Singing Competition. This program has also been performed several times in Strasbourg, at the Théâtre des Sablons and in Poissy.

For its 2021/22 season, the orchestra presents several programs representative of its diversity, such as Les Cantatas du Mariage by Jean-Sébastien Bach, Vienne fin de siècle, Mozart with Pierre Génisson, Music and Politics, in various festivals and theatres: La Folle Day in Nantes, the La Chaise-Dieu Festival (Auvergne), the Reims Opera, the Sablons Theater (Neuilly-sur-Seine), the Clermont-Ferrand Opera-Theater, the Poissy Theater.

The Orchestra is also going on a European tour which takes it to Vienna, Prague, Terezin, Vilnius, Bayreuth, Bonn, Brussels in 2022 with the Forum Voix Étouffées.

The Forum will release a CD in co-production with the Orchester Les Métamorphoses in 2022 on the theme Music & Politics.
