With the collaboration of its European Partners, the FVE proposes to: To rediscover composers persecuted by the Nazis between 1933 and 1945 by inciting officials in the European music world to integrate their works into their repertoire and through shaping young musicians through their music. To inform the public at large, through dialogue about the historical context which had led to the persecution of these artists at the same time as familiarizing them with the musical pieces created by the composers in question. To preserve the memory of “silenced voices” as well as this aspect of the European cultural heritage. In order to fulfill its many objectives the FVE organizes a biannual Festival - which will next take place in 2010. This is an occasion to represent a large repertoire of “Silenced Voices” music in its various forms. In parallel to its activities with the performing arts, the FVE is the initiator of colloquiums and awareness campaigns which target today’s youth. The FVE regularly publishes and translates works connected to the theme of “silenced voices’ and produces recordings of unprecedented works from this collection. The FVE received support for its activities from various institutions, like for example European Union through its cultural program “Europe For Citizens”, the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs via its Cultural Forum (www.fca-fr.com), or the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah (www.fondationshoah.org)in Paris. |
